Baillie Johnson of Hardin County (Center) comits to play for the Lady Wildcats Golf Team beginning 2008-09

Bethel College women’s golf head coach Monte Cunningham announced the signing of Hardin County linkster Baillie Johnson for the 2008-2009 season. Johnson is the daughter of Dennis and Dwainna Johnson of Counce, Tenn.

“She will have an immediate impact on our team next fall. She had an outstanding junior and high school career. She has a complete game,” said Cunningham. “She is a great student in the classroom and I am proud that she is going to be a member of our team at Bethel.”

Johnson was the co-captain of her team at Hardin County High School and was coached by the girls golf coach Ron Burnham. She was the Region 7AAA Champion and was the District 13AAA runner-up. She qualified for the TSSAA State Tournament all four years at Hardin County. She finished first on three of the four region matches she played in. She also scored first in three tournaments this year. She has averaged 77.44 strokes per contest this past season.

Johnson is also an excellent student and will graduate with honors next spring.

Bethel College competes in the NAIA and the TranSouth Conference. The Lady Wildcats finished second in the conference last season.
