The Bethel Wildcats utilized a fast break offense and got production from the bench to claim an 83-54 road win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Bethel dominated in fast break points scoring 28 to SCP’s 0. The bench also chipped in 36 points to SCP’s 16.

Clint Blackburn had the hot hand for the Wildcats in the first half as he poured in 19. He sizzled from the floor going 7 of 9 including 4 of 6 from 3-point range. As a team, Bethel shot 53% from the floor. Bethel played tough defense, limiting SCP’s filed goal percentage to 29% in the first half. The Wildcats also won on the boards, 20-13. Brennen Ward also dished off six assists in the first frame. Blackburn’s three with :15 to go gave Bethel their largest lead of the game going into the break, 40-17.

The Wildcats continued to outpace SCP, scoring 19 fast break points. Derek Demaree led Bethel’s scoring in the second half with nine points. Leon Sewell and Brian French also got in the scoring act dropping in seven each. Deonte Carlisle was 3 of 4 in the second for six points, but added four steals. Bethel didn’t shoot as well in the second hitting 42% of their shots as they cruised to the 83-54 victory.

Clint Blackburn led all scorers with 21 points. He also had three assists and a rebound. Derek Demaree finished with 11 points, seven boards, two assists and two steals. Leon Sewell had 10 points with three rebounds and two steals. Deonte Carlisle had nine points, four boards, one block and four steals. Antione Lesesene scored nine to go with 10 rebounds, one block and one steal.

The Wildcats have won four straight and are 6-1 on the year. They play Concordia Seminary College in St. Louis on Monday, December, 10 at 6:00pm.
