The Bethel Wildcats completed their short two-game road trip by defeating the Concordia Seminary Preachers 78-60. Bethel’s work in the paint and once again off the bench scoring was the deciding factor.
Bethel’s Antoine Lesesene dominated in the first half shooting 7 of 9 for 18 points. Lesesene was also cleaning the glass grabbing 8 boards in the first and added three blocks. Brian French and Hrvoje Devcic each scored five. Bethel had the advantage in the paint scoring 23 to the Preachers’ 10. The bench was also a factor as the Wildcats dropped in 30 to Concordia’s 10.
The Wildcats continued to roll in the second as Akinfolarin Sessi led the attack with 11 points. Brennen Ward added eight points to go with five assists. Brian French and Hrvoje Devcic each added six as the Wildcats outscored the Preachers 40-30 in the final frame.
Lesesene was one rebound shy of a double double with 20 points and nine boards. Sessi, Devcic and French each had 11 points. Demaree was the top rebounded with 11. Brennen Ward finished with eight and had nine assists. Leon Sewell also dropped in eight.
Bethel improves to 7-1 on their current five game winning streak. They will be in action on Friday, December 14 at 8:00pm as they host Rust College in the McDonald’s Classic. On Saturday, they will play at 1:00pm against Missouri Baptist University.
