Cats Get Ready to Kick Their Way Back into Top Ten
Kansas City, Mo. - The Bethel Wildcats were rated No. 12 in the NAIA Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' poll Tuesday. The Cats received 344 votes and were one of two teams from the TranSouth Conference to be included in the poll. Martin Methodist was ranked No. 6. Lindsey Wilson College was voted No. 1.
Bethel was No. 1 the entire season last year before bowing out in the second round of post season play. The Cats finished 15-2-3 on the season. Since 2000, two teams have rattled through the entire season ranked No 1 -Bethel in 2009 and Rio Grande during the 2004 season.
The Wildcats open there season Saturday at home against Southern Poly University. The match begins at 4 p.m.
