McKenzie, Tenn. (08.23.10)- The No. 12 Bethel Wildcats battled to a scoreless two overtime tie with No.9 Southern Polytechnic Saturday afternoon in the season opener for both squads.
The home town Bethel crowd had plenty to cheer about from the defensive side. Both squads had their chances but both teams played strong defense to finish in the deadlock.
Bethel Goalkeeper Chaz Dachenhaus was brilliant in net. He finished with four saves on the day.
Bethel Head Coach Melvin Belong was pleased with the effort. " I thought Chaz did a great job. He was tough in net. Joseph Omondi and Mohammed Dumbuya both had great games."
Belong added, " We possessed the ball well but simply could not convert. It was a great battle between two very good programs."
