McKenzie, Tenn. (08.27.10)-The Bethel University Lady Wildcat soccer team fell at  Grace College 2-1 Friday afternoon in the season opener for both squads.

The Lady Cats out shot their opponent 15-12. Bethel goalkeeper Cayla Avila was credited with four saves.

A huge factor in the contest was fouls. Bethel was called for 19 while Grace only had nine.

Bethel's only goal was at the 51:32 mark of the second half when Freshman Rachel Dooling scored.

The Lady Cats tied  the game at one at that point but Grace was able to score later to win.

Bethel Head Coach Misty Aird said her team played well.  " I thought we dominated at times. We had a couple of breakdowns which hurt us." Aird added, " Jalene Tye and Kenya Charles both played well and I thought it was big for Rachael to come off the bench for the goal.

The Lady Cats remain on the road at Indiana Wesleyan Saturday.
