McKenzie, Tenn. (08.31.10) - Bethel Baseball Coach Rusty Thompson announced Jacob Dowty of Bolivar Central High School has inked with his program. The outfielder and catcher for the Tigers hit .374 and sole 16 bases his senior year.
The Physical Education major is the son Arden and Becky Dowty and Ronald and Lee Brown of Hornsby, Tennessee.
He won the BCHS Tiger Award and was a 2010 Independent Appeal All-Tournament player this past season.
He feels his focus is his strength. He chose Bethel because he liked the coaching staff and knows several players on the squad.
Coach Thompson was happy with Jacob's decision. "Once again we are happy to sign a West Tennessee player from a good program. Jacob needs to get stronger but he has a lot of potential."
