The Bethel Lady Wildcat Golf team won the Tri-Match event at Lake Barkley State Park last week, beating Kentucky Wesleyan and Brescia. Bethel finished with a team total of 343. KWU was second with a score of 357, while Brescia finished third with a team score of 361.
The Lady Wildcats were led by Paris (Henry County) senior Emily Muse, and Humboldt (USJ) freshman Amelia Ray who both shot 84's to tie for medalist honors.
Lexington (Lexington High School) sophomore, Jessica Maness finished fourth overall, posting a score of 85. Clarksburg (CHS) freshman, Erica Yarbro shot 90, Kelsey Schwartz, a sophomore from Barlett (BHS) shot 91.
Bethel Coach Monte Cunningham was pleased with the effort and outcome." I was really proud of our young ladies.Even if we took our fifth place score, we would have still won the event. We kept our focus despite a damp and overcast day." Cunningham added, " The rough was very punitive and we did a good job keeping the ball in play."
