MCKENZIE, Tenn. (February 25, 2008)-The Bethel College Lady Wildcats were defeated by Christian Brothers University (Tenn.) 0-4 in the first game and 4-5 in the second game of Monday’s double-header at Lady Wildcat Field. The Lady Wildcats fall to 0-2 on the season.

In game one of the double-header, the Lady Wildcats were shut out with a no-hitter provided by Christian Brothers’ Nicki Dunn. The Lady Wildcats’ pitcher Blair Johnson (JR/Covington, TN) threw in six strikeouts but took the 0-4 loss.

In the second game, Bethel scored two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. Hannah Kee (SR/Bruceton, TN) picked up the first of her two RBI as Lindsey Davis scored. The Lady Wildcats allowed Christian Brothers to score one in the second, two in the third, and two in the fourth innings. The Lady Wildcats rallied in the fifth for one run from Kee as she hit a homerun to center. Bethel held the Lady Bucs scoreless in the top of the sixth. The Lady Wildcats picked up another run in the sixth as Davis batted Whitney Taylor (JR/Stanton, TN) in from a double to centerfield and set the score at 4-5. Neither team scored in the final inning as Lindsey Davis (FR/Lexington, TN) went on to take the 4-5 loss.

The Bethel College Lady Wildcats will travel to Batesville, AR on Thursday, February 28th to take on Lyon College in a double-header starting at 1PM. While in Arkansas, the Lady Wildcats will travel to Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge on Friday, February 29^th for a twill bill beginning at 12:30PM.
