Gary Ward Inks with Bat Cats
McKenzie, Tenn. - Virginia All-State Pitcher Gary Ward signed with the Bethel Wildcat Baseball program. The incoming junior pitched for Pitt Community College for the last two years.
The Physical Education major is the son of Gary and Kathy Ward of Chesapeake, Virginia.
The left-handed hurler was 11-1 at PCC and 20-2 in his high school career. He was 8-0 with a 0.99 ERA his senior year in high school. He helped lead PCC to the Junior College World Series.
He feels his leadership is a strength he will bring to the collegiate level. He chose Bethel because he was impressed with the coaching staff.
"We are extremely excited about signing Gary," said Bethel Head Coach Rusty Thompson. "Having previously committing to the University of Miami, we expect him to be a big part of our pitching staff this coming year, "he added.
