
NASHVILLE (March 3, 2008)- In a statement released by the TranSouth Conference Sports Information Director, Greg Ruff, Bethel College Lady Wildcat Nina Djokovic was honored as All-Conference First Team and nine Bethel College student-athletes were named TranSouth Scholar-Athletes.
Nina Djokovic, the 6’1 power forward, currently averages 13.74 PPG, 8.41 RPG, 1.85 APG, 0.89 SPG, and 0.44 BPG. Djokovic ranks ninth in the NAIA in offensive rebounds per game and recorded a season high 23 points against Lambuth University on January 17, 2008.
Bethel College was represented by nine TranSouth Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes for the 2007-2008 season. Receiving this great honor are: Britni Sternard (SR/Clarksville, TN); Nina Djokovic (SO/Belgrade, Serbia); Gretchen Seyerle (SO/Medina, TN); Meagan Price (RS/SO/Gleason, TN); Jenna Roney (JR/Union City, TN); Jessie Dennison (SR/Decaturville, TN); Erin Meyer (SR/Memphis, TN); Jessica Murphy (SR/Trezevant, TN); and Jelena Budimir (JR/Belgrade, Serbia). To receive TranSouth Scholar-Athlete honors, the student-athlete must maintain a 3.0 or above cumulative grade point average and be of sophomore status or above.
