MCKENZIE, Tenn. (March 12, 2008)-The Bethel College Lady Wildcats were defeated by Martin Methodist College (Tenn.) 3-7 in game one and 0-8 in game two to fall to 1-7 (1-3) on the season. Martin Methodist improves to 15-4 (4-0) with the wins.

The Lady Wildcats allowed the RedHawks one run in the first and second innings before touching the plate twice in the bottom of the second. Theresa Crawley (SR/Callahan, FL) sacrificed to center picking up an RBI on Emily Thompson’s (FR/Lexington, TN) run. Blair Johnson (JR/Covington, TN) knocked a single to center allowing Brandi Funburg (Harrisburg, IL) to score. The Lady Wildcats allowed Martin Methodist five runs in the fourth and did not score again until the fifth. Hannah Key (SR/Bruceton, TN) doubled to right-center allowing Lindsey Davis (FR/Lexington, TN) to coast in. Neither team scored again and set the final at 3-7 as Blair Johnson took the loss for the Lady Wildcats.

In game two of the double-header, the Lady Wildcats had seven hits but could not find home as they remained scoreless. Bethel allowed Martin Methodist eight runs, four in the fourth, as Paige Cooper took the 0-8 loss in six. Funburg picked up two hits in the game.

The Bethel College Lady Wildcats will travel to Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN today, March 13th, for a double-header beginning at 4PM.
