NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 13, 2008)-The Bethel College Lady Wildcats were defeated by #4 Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) in yesterday’s TranSouth double-header, 1-8 and 3-18. Bethel falls to 1-9 (1-5) as Trevecca remains undefeated at 8-0 (4-0) on the season.

The Lady Wildcats allowed Trevecca two runs in the first but held them scoreless in the next three innings. Trevecca picked up three more runs in the fifth as the Lady Wildcats did not score until the sixth. Blair Johnson (JR/Covington, TN) knocked a homer for Bethel’s only run in the contest. Trevecca added three more to the total but the Lady Wildcats could not counter in the seventh as Johnson took the loss, 1-8.

In the second game, the Lady Wildcats allowed Trevecca five runs in the first, four in the second, and four in the third, before rallying in the fourth for three runs. Samantha Mullins (SO/Dyer, TN) swung big picking up three RBI from the hit. Bethel allowed Trevecca five runs in the fourth and could not answer in the fifth to set the score at 3-18 as Paige Cooper (SR/Millington, TN) took the loss.

The Bethel College Lady Wildcats will travel to Lebanon, TN to take on Cumberland University on Tuesday, March 18^th for a 1PM TranSouth double-header.
