
Johnathan Deberry reached base on error and stole second, advanced on a fielder’s choice and scored on Jonathan Keck’s single. In the top of the second, Bethel catcher, Jim Evans, walked advanced to third on Scott Dean’s single and scored as Deberry reached again on an error. That would be all the scoring that the Wildcats would be able to muster. Bethel returned late Sunday night after a double header at Lyon College, the ‘Cats looked a little sluggish. The Wildcats would have had a day off in between Lyon and UNA, but the snow pushed the series to two Sunday games.
Levi Scronce started for the Wildcats throwing three innings allowing six runs, four earned, allowing only two hits. Freshman Glenn Smith pitched a third of inning giving up three runs on three hits. Jon Patterson went two and a third innings allowing five hits and five runs. Brian Nellett finished off the day going a third of an inning walking one and striking out one.
The Wildcats will be at home on Friday, March 14 for a conference series match-up with Union University. Game time for Friday is 2:00pm and a double header is slated for Saturday beginning at 12:00pm. Bethel is 15-6 (2-3) on they year.
