LEBANON, Tenn. (March 18, 2008)-The Bethel College Lady Wildcats were defeated by Cumberland University, 2-3 and 0-4, in yesterday’s TranSouth twin bill. The Lady Wildcats are 1-11 (1-7) on the season while Cumberland improves to 4-2 (3-2).

The Lady Wildcats were scoreless in the first inning and allowed the Lady Bulldogs to score one. Neither team scored in the second as the Lady Wildcats picked up their first run in the third. Brittany Edmunds (FR/Benton, KY) doubled to left, picking up her RBI as Paige Cooper (SR/Millington, TN) scored. Bethel scored again in the sixth when Blair Johnson (JR/Covington, TN) smacked a single to center and advanced Lindsey Davis (FR/Lexington, TN) home. The Lady Wildcats allowed Cumberland two more runs, one in the sixth and one in the seventh, as Johnson took the 2-3 loss.

In game two, Bethel allowed Cumberland just three hits for the game. The Lady Wildcats picked up six hits, but could not find home in the contest. Emily Thompson (FR/Lexington, TN) and Davis had two hits each. Paige Cooper recorded the 0-4 loss.
 
The Bethel College Lady Wildcats will play host to Oakland City University (Ind.) on Tuesday, March 25th at 3PM on Lady Wildcat Field in McKenzie, TN.
