MCKENZIE, Tenn. (March 17, 2008) – The 22^nd ranked Bethel College women’s tennis team played a tough match-up with the Benedictine College Ravens from Atchison, KS and pulled out a win 6-3.

Bethel swept in doubles action but had a strong challenge in singles. In doubles, number one’s Juliana Costa and Marcela Vita R. Santos won 8-2; number two position doubles Marta Carolina Bello and Karen Martinez won 8-3 and number threes Margot Creaseman and Dana Ledbetter won 8-3.

In singles, number one Juliana Costa won 4-6, 6-2 and by opponent retirement. Number two, Marta Carolina Bello lost 0-6,4-6; Marcela Vita R. Santos won easily 6-0, 6-1; Karen Martinez cruised 6-2, 6-2; Margot Creaseman fell 3-6, 7-6, 3-10; and Dana Ledbetter lost 6-3, 6-2.

The men’s team improved to 5-0 on the season. They will host conference rival Cumberland University on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 2:30pm. They also host Lambuth University on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 2:00pm.
