MCKENZIE, Tenn. (March 20, 2008)- The number ten ranked Bethel College Wildcats men’s tennis team blanked the Lambuth University Eagles 9-0 in a TranSouth Conference match-up.

Bethel breezed through doubles action as number one’s Fernando Bocchese and Fernando Ristow won 8-1; number two’s Gustavo Hoewell and Augusto Velez won 8-6 and number three’s Andres Mejia and Thiago Oliveira won 8-2.

In singles, number one Fernando Bocchese won 6-3, 6-3; number two Fernando Ristow won easily 6-2, 6-1; Andres Mejia won 6-1, 6-2; Gustavo Hoewell cruised 6-1, 6-0; Thiago Oliveira had to come back after losing the second set to win 6-4, 4-6, 6-0; and Augusto Velez was in total command winning 6-1, 6-0.

The men’s team improved to 6-0 (2-0) on the season and is currently ranked #10 in the nation. They will host conference rival Cumberland University on Thursday, March 26, 2008 at 1:00pm.
