Chase Pilkenton Drives in Four in Season Opener
 

Memphis, Tenn. -After falling behind 3-0 after one inning the Bethel Wildcats plated two runs in the second inning and scored a single run in the third inning to tie CBU 3-3 after three in Memphis Wednesday afternoon. The Cats scored three runs in the sixth, two runs in the seventh, and a single run in the eighth and beat CBU 9-5 in the season opener for both teams.

 

Chase Pilkenton drove in four runs with three hits, including a home run in the sixth to give Bethel the lead. Cody Crocker, Brian Ferrell, Jordan Stack, and Tyler Roberson all had one RBI each. Stack also had three hits on the day.

Joey Wilder pitched two scoreless innings retiring all six batters he faced and was credited with the win.    
Bethel Coach Rusty Thompson was pleased with the win."It is always good to get the first win to start the season off right. We felt like we played a very good game but we have to continue to get better each day. We are looking forward to the challenge this weekend."           

The Wildcats will host Northwestern Ohio Saturday and Sunday in doubleheaders on both days. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. Saturday with Sunday's DH beginning at noon.Catch the baseball season preview posted earlier here at www.bethelathletics.com.
