MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Wildcats men's soccer team has signed Chaz Dachenhaus from Leesville, South Carolina to the 2008 class. Dachenhaus is a 5'11" goalkeeper who attended Batesburg-Leesville High School.
 

During his junior year, Dachenhaus was a member of the Lexington County Soccer Club Arsenal team in the fall that won the 2006 Aiken Cup U19/U18 Gold Division Championship. During the spring, he started all of his high school's 25 games as the team posted a 19-6 record and he posted a 1.09 GAA. He was named to South Caolina's AA/A All Area Soccer Team and Region III-AA All Region Team. His team advanced to the semifinals of the AA State Playoffs as the team placed fourth in the state.

In the fall of his senior year, he played on the Columbia United FC 89 Boys Palmetto team where he was named captain. The Columbia team took the 2007 Carolina Cup U19/U18 Championship. Dachenhaus has also played varsity basketball for Batesburg-Leesville.

"I expect him to come in and challenge for the starting position even though his is a freshman," said Bethel College Head Men's Soccer Coach Melvin Belong. "He is hard working both on and off the field. He is an excellent student and we are delighted to have him join the Bethel family."

Dachenhaus is ranked number one in his class, is an honor roll student and Vice President of the Beta Club. He is a member of the Wittenburg Lutheran Church Youth Group Student Council, Interact Club, Art Honors Society and Spanish Honors Society.

Bethel competes in the TranSouth Athletic Conference of the NAIA.
