The defending 2007 Mid-South Conference Champions finished the campaign setting a new record in wins going 11-2. They also finished with the highest ranking in school history peaking at number four and with the highest of any collegiate program in the state of Tennessee finishing fifth in the final poll. Last season also marked the second year in a row that the Wildcats qualified for the NAIA Playoffs and won their first round game.
"We have many returning players with valuable playoff experience," said Head Coach Dino Kaklis. "The players that have been here know where the bar has been set and how hard it is to get there. They are looking to raise the bar even further this next season. With our returning players and the talented recruiting class that the coaching staff has assembled coming in, we should be on track to meet our goals."
Although the out of conference schedule is not finalized, the Wildcats will open Mid-South Conference play at home on September 20, 2008 against the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).
