PULASKI, Tenn. (April 15, 2008)-The Bethel College Lady Wildcats were defeated in both games of the TranSouth double-header at Martin Methodist, (1-9, 2-10). The Redhawks improve to 33-8 (22-4) as the Lady Wildcats fall to 9-19 (5-15) on the season.

The Lady Wildcats scored the first run of game one and that would prove to be Bethel's only run in the contest. The Lady Wildcats held Martin Methodist in innings one and two. Bethel allowed the Redhawks six third inning runs, two fourth inning runs, and one run in the fifth to set the final score at 1-9. Bethel's Paige Cooper recorded the loss. Emily Thompson (FR/Lexington, TN) went one of two from the plate for the game. Brittany Edmonds (FR/Benton,KY) went one of two, including a double, at bat and picked up one RBI. Brandi Funburg (SR/Harrisburg, IL) connected on one of two from the plate. Lindsay Davis (FR/Lexington, TN) scored the Lady Wildcats' only run of the game.

In game two, the Lady Wildcats scored the first two runs of the game. Bethel College allowed Martin Methodist only one run in the first but did not score in the top of the third. Martin Methodist added three runs in the second, four in the third inning, and two in the fourth inning. Blair Johnson (JR/Covington, TN) took the 2-10 loss. Hannah Kee (SR/Bruceton, TN) went one of two from the plate. Brittany Edmonds added a double from one hit out of two tries and picked up two RBI. Whitney Taylor (JR/Stanton, TN) scored one run and went one of two from the plate.

The Bethel College Lady Wildcats will travel to Jackson, TN to take on Union University on Thursday, April 17^th for a double-header starting at 5PM.
