
Bethel swept all six of the All-Conference First Team singles positions:#1Fernando Bucchese, #2 Fernando Ristow, #3 Andres Mejia, #4 Arnaud Bichon, #5 Gustavo Hoewell and #6 Thiago Oliveria. First Team doubles for Bethel was #2 Gustavo Hoewell and Augusto Velez. Bethel also claimed Second Team doubles, #3 Andres Mejia and Fernando Ristow.
Receiving top awards were Bocchese who was named TranSouth Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Bocchese is 12-0 in singles competition this season. And Head Coach Gustavo Andrade was awarded with TranSouth Conference Men's Coach of the Year.
Bethel started their march to the championship with a 5-0 win over Lambuth University. Bethel was paired against Cumberland University in the Championship match. The prior Saturday, the Wildcats defeated CU 7-2. The Wildcats looked to put an exclamation point on the Championship as they blanked Cumberland 5-0.
With the Tournament win, the Wildcats are the 2008 TranSouth Conference regular season and tournament champion.
