MCKENZIE, Tenn. (April 20, 2008)-The Bethel College Lady Wildcats defeated Cumberland University in Saturday's twin bill 6-5 and 4-0. Against Lambuth University on Sunday, the Lady Wildcats spilt, winning game one 6-2 and losing game two 0-5. Bethel improves to 12-22 (8-18) on the season.

Game one verses Cumberland University went into extra innings before the Lady Wildcats took a big conference win. Bethel held Cumberland in the top of the eighth inning after putting up two runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Lady Wildcats scored the winning run when Lindsey Davis (FR/Lexington, TN) singled to center allowing Blair Johnson (JR/Covington, TN) to score. Paige Cooper (SR/Millington, TN) slung 10 strike-outs to record the 6-5 win. Davis finished the game with two runs, two RBI, and connected on two of five from the plate. Emily Thompson (FR/Lexington, TN) went two of four and picked up two RBI. Senior Theresa Crawley (Callahan, FL) swung big for three hits out of three tries and added two runs.

The Lady Wildcats shutout Cumberland in the game two as Blair Johnson recorded the 4-0 win. Johnson allowed Cumberland only two hits in the contest. Lindsey Davis went two of three from the plate, including a double, and added two RBI. Hannah Kee (SR/Bruceton, TN) smacked a double and finished the game with two hits out of three tries and one RBI.

In Sunday's first game against Lambuth University, the Lady Wildcats picked up where they finished on Saturday, with a win. Bethel scored three runs in the second and fourth innings while allowing Lambuth just two third inning runs in the game. Paige Cooper added another one to her wins column with the 6-2 win. Theresa Crawley went two for two and scored two runs in the contest. Brandi Funburg (SR/Harrisburg, IL) connected on two of three at bats, one double, and added a run to the board.

The Lady Wildcats allowed Lambuth five fourth inning runs, without scoring, as pitcher Blair Johnson took the 0-5 loss in Sunday's game two. Lindsey Davis went two of three from the plate. Theresa Crawley had a double and finished with two hits from three at bats.

The Bethel College Lady Wildcat Seniors were honored with Senior Day. Those recognized were: Theresa Crawley, Brandi Funburg, Paige Cooper, and Hannah Kee.

The Lady Wildcats will host Freed-Hardeman University on Monday, April 21st at 1PM on Lady Wildcat Field in McKenzie, TN.
