HENDERSON, Tenn. (April 23, 2008)-The Bethel College Lady Wildcats were defeated by Freed-Hardeman University 1-5 and 1-5 on Wednesday. The Lady Wildcats fall to 12-26 (8-22) as Freed-Hardeman improves to 29-13 (21-11) on the season.

Bethel allowed Freed-Hardeman two first inning runs and went on to hold them in the next four innings. Freed-Hardeman added three more runs in the sixth inning. The Lady Wildcats answered with one run in the top of the seventh but that was not enough as Paige Cooper (SR/Millington, TN) marks the 1-5 loss. Whitney Taylor (JR/Stanton, TN) went two of four and added one RBI. Senior Brandi Funburg (Harrisburg, IL) connected on two of three from the plate. Cooper picked up the Lady Wildcats' only run in the contest.

Game two was similar to game one. Freed-Hardeman added the first two runs to the board in the first inning. The Lady Wildcats allowed the Lady Lions to score two more in the fourth as they added one run in the top of the fifth. Bethel allowed Freed-Hardeman one more run in the sixth inning. The Lady Wildcats did not score in the top of the seventh inning. Bethel's Blair Johnson (JR/Covington, TN) recorded the 1-5 loss. Whitney Taylor finished with one RBI from one hit out of three tries. Jennifer Townson (FR/Dyersburg, TN) went one of three and scored the Lady Wildcats' only run. Brandi Funburg went one of three and picked up one steal. Brittany Edmonds (FR/Benton, KY) had a double from three at bats. Kasey Winsett (FR/Paris, TN) went one of three as well.

The Bethel College Lady Wildcats will travel to Memphis, TN on Friday, April 25^th to take on Crichton College for a double-header starting at 2PM.
