MEMPHIS, Tenn. (April 25, 2008)-The Bethel College Lady Wildcats defeated Crichton College in game one of Friday's twin bill, 8-5, but went on the lose in game two, 2-9. The Lady Wildcats are 13-27 (9-23) on the season.

In game one, neither team scored in the first inning. Both teams scored one run each in the second and third innings. Bethel added one run in the fifth inning and five big runs in the sixth while holding Crichton scoreless in each inning. Crichton picked up three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but that was not enough to overcome the Lady Wildcats' lead, as Paige Cooper (SR/Millington, TN) recorded the 8-5 win for Bethel. Emily Thompson (FR/Lexington, TN) had a big game for the Lady Wildcats as she went three of four adding two RBI, one run, and one steal. Brittany Edmonds (FR/Benton, KY) went two of four with three RBI. Senior Brandi Funburg (Harrisburg, IL) finished with two of three from the plate. Lindsey Davis (FR/Lexington, TN) went two of five, including a triple, and picked up two runs. Junior Whitney Taylor (Stanton, TN) finished with one hit out of five tries, two runs, and one RBI.

The Lady Wildcats started game two with two runs while holding Crichton at zero. Neither team scored in the second inning. Bethel did not score again and allowed Crichton seven third inning runs. Crichton added one run in the fifth and another in the sixth to set the score at 2-9. Bethel College's Blair Johnson (JR/Covington, TN) recorded the loss. Hannah Kee (SR/Bruceton, TN) went two of three picking up a double and one RBI. Brittany Edmonds had a double, one RBI; one hit from four tries, and added a run for the Lady Wildcats. Paige Cooper went two of four from the plate. Lindsey Davis had one hit and one run in the contest.

The Bethel College Lady Wildcats will travel to Jackson, TN for a double-header against Lambuth University, today, April 26^th, beginning at 1PM.
