JACKSON, Tenn. (May 2, 2008)-The #8 seed Bethel College Lady were eliminated from the TranSouth Conference Tournament by #2 seed Martin Methodist College, 0-1. Martin Methodist advances at 42-12 as the Lady Wildcats finish the 2008 season at 17-30.

The Lady Wildcats held Martin Methodist until the sixth inning. Bethel allowed the Lady Trojans just one run in the inning but did not answer in the top of the seventh. Brittany Edmonds (FR/Benton, KY) went one for two from the plate. Senior pitcher Paige Cooper (Millington, TN) recorded the 0-1 loss.

The Lady Wildcats made an extraordinary run in the TranSouth Conference tournament. Both tournament losses came from the nation's top ranked teams, and by only one run in each contest. Trevecca Nazarene University is #5 in the nation and the TranSouth tournament's #1 seed. Martin Methodist College is the #2 seed in the TranSouth tournament and #17 in NAIA.
