Britt said he was excited about signing McDaniel. "Gavin will help our interior play for the next four years. He has a great work ethic, desire, and above all is a great person to add to our team."
McDaniel helped Wynne High School, under the direction of head coach Bobby Joe Gross, win its conference championship this past season and finish with a 20-9 record before being eliminated in the state tournament.
McDaniel averaged 9.2 points and 8.6 rebounds during his senior season and was named to the Jonesboro Sun Senior Classic All-Star Team.
Coach Gross stated, "Gavin is probably the most improved player I have ever coached in my coaching career. He has an extremely strong work ethic and his best basketball is still ahead of him."
"Gavin has the potential as a freshman to play at lot of minutes at the forward spot for us," Britt said.
