McKenzie, Tenn. (May 16, 2008) Chris Walker, a 6-1, 200 pound Point Guard from Wynne High School in Arkansas has decided to continue his basketball career at Bethel College, Wildcat Head Coach Jeff Britt announced today.
Britt is very excited about this sign and stated, "Chris will provide added depth in the backcourt for our team. He has great size, quickness, and is a gifted ball handler."
Walker was a big part of Wynne's 20-9 record and helped lead them to the state tournament after a conference championship. He also helped them win the Bald Knob Christmas Tournament. Wynne is under the direction of Coach Bobby Joe Gross.
Walker was chosen to the All-Conference team during his senior season with 10 points and 5 assists per game. Chris has been chosen to play in the East – West Arkansas All-Star game that will be held next month at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Coach Gross commented, "Chris has the chance to be a big time college point guard. He has the size and skills to play at a high level."
"Chris has the opportunity as a freshman to come in and get the chance to contribute to our program," Jeff Britt said.
Walker chose Bethel over Harding University and Williams Baptist College. This is the third signee for Bethel during the Spring Signing period.
