MCKENZIE, Tenn. (June 12, 2008) – The Bethel College Lady Wildcat basketball program added Kashundria Berry, a 5'7 point guard from Houston, TX, to the 2008-09 squad. Berry is a transfer from Hannibal-LaGrange College in Hannibal, MO. Kashundria started her collegiate career at Texas Southern University in Houston, TX.
Berry led Hannibal-LaGrange in assists and steals last season. She picked up 1.78 steals per game in the 2007-08 season for a total of 41. Berry dished 4 assists per game last season finishing with a total of 92. She ranked #31 in NAIA DI for the assists per game category. Berry scored a season high 27 points verses Missouri Baptist University on February 2, 2008. Against Trinity Christian College on December 14, 2007, Berry dished out a season high 15 assists. She averaged 10.57 points per game and 3.43 rebounds per game last season. Kashundria Berry completed the 2007-08 season with 79 rebounds, 92 assists, 41 steals, and 243 points.
Head Coach Chris Nelson stated, "We are very excited to get a player like K.B. We feel like she instantly makes us better at the guard position and adds different dimensions to our offensive game."
The Bethel College Lady Wildcats will begin the 2008-09 season at home on Saturday, November 1st at 2PM against Philander Smith College (Ark.) at Dishman Gymnasium in McKenzie, TN.
