White played one year at Olive Harvey Junior College before last season at Kishwaikee. Last season White averaged 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game. That was good enough to earn All Region Four 2nd Team. He also was named to the Missouri State West Plains All Tournament Team last season.
White is a strong perimeter defender and has shown the ability to score from behind the arc as well as on the inside. He stated that he wanted to improve on being more aggressive driving to the basket.
White's services were also being sought after the University of Indianapolis, NW Missouri State, Mid-Continent University and Lambuth University. "Bethel College is a fine school where I can further my learning and develop my skills on and off the court," said White on why he chose Bethel.
White plans on majoring in Criminal Justice while at Bethel.
"We are very proud to announce the signing of Philip White to our program," said Bethel Head Coach Jeff Britt. "Hopefully he will add depth and experience to our team with his valuable playing experience and athletic ability. We plan to use him at a wing position."
Bethel competes in the NAIA and the TranSouth Athletic Conference.
