MCKENZIE, Tenn. (July 12, 2008) - The Bethel Wildcats got a commitment from three sport athlete and middle infielder, Chase Collomp of Waverly High School. He is the son of Todd and Molly Collomp and he plans on majoring in Physical Therapy.

Collomp played baseball, basketball and football for the Waverly Tigers. He earned the Tiger Award in all three sports and was All-District in Basketball and Baseball. In addition to playing baseball for the Tigers, Collomp played on several travel teams including, the Clarksville Bearcats, West TN Diamond Dogs and the KenTenn Xpress.

Last season he hit .364 with 21 stolen bases, 12 doubles and 2 triples. He says his defense is his strong point and hopes to improve his power at the plate and his speed.

"Chase played for a very good high school team. He's a very athletic young man," said Bethel College Head Coach Rusty Thompson. "He has a great work ethic and attitude and I believe he will really help us out."

Collomp was also sought after by Union University and Columbia State Community College.

Bethel competes in the NAIA and the TranSouth Athletic Conference.
