MCKENZIE, Tenn. (August 18, 2008) - The pre-season number six ranked Bethel College Wildcats open the 2008 football season at home against the Hornets of Concordia College, Selma, Ala. Kick off is set for 7:00pm. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students under 18 years of age and children under 10 years are admitted free. The ‘Cats will play six home games this season and season ticket packages can be purchased before the game for $50.00/adult and $25.00/18-under student.
 

This will be the first ever meeting between the Hornets and the Wildcats. The two teams shared and defeated two common opponents last season; Belhaven College (Miss.) and Webber International University (Fla.). Bethel won 49-20 over Belhaven and 42-21 over Webber. Concordia defeated Belhaven by a score of 32-19 and 38-27 over Webber.

The Wildcats come off their most successful season in the modern era posting an 11-2 record in 2007. They qualified for the NAIA playoffs for the second consecutive year, falling in the quarterfinal round. Bethel will look to defend its 2007 Mid-South Conference Championship and hope to get off with a strong start against the Hornets.
