MCKENZIE, TENN. (Friday, September 12, 2008) - The Lady Wildcats volleyball team added to their best-ever start in school history with an important conference win over the Lady Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene University. Bethel won 3-1 and reeled off three straight wins after dropping the first; 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15. With the victory, Bethel remained undefeated to start the 2008 season and is 5-0 (3-0).
 

The comeback was sparked by the play of newcomer Abbey Masters. Masters posted seven kills and 32 assists and made a couple of highlights saves. Michele Cunha led the Lady Wildcats with 38 total attacks and 28 defensive digs. Cunha also posted seven kills. Senior Lisa Sellers led the team in kills with 13 and had 30 total attacks. Jessica Vieira had 28 total attacks and eight kills. Deseray Washington and Dre Townsend each had 12 total attacks. Townsend finished with seven kills and Washington with six.

The Lady Wildcats will be on the road on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 2:00pm in Jackson, Tenn. against the Union University Lady Bulldogs.
