MCKENZIE, TENN. (Friday, September 12, 2008) - The Lady Wildcats were seeking their first win on the season as they hosted the Lady Bisons of Oklahoma Baptist University. After a defensive and hard fought first half, Bethel pulled away in the second for a 5-1 win.

It took a little while but Bethel netted the first goal of the game in the 38th minute as Marika Fukuta to a pass from Carla Chambers and lob kicked the ball over the Lady Bisons goaltender. After the break, the Lady Wildcats wasted no time getting on the scoreboard again. Philisha Lewis blasted a shot that found the left corner. It wasn't long before the Lady Wildcats' Florence Iweta gave them a 3-0 lead as she took a straight pass from Carla Chambers and dribbled past the goaltender. Bethel went up 4-0 as Fukuta scored her second goal of the afternoon on a one-timer from Iweta. Oklahoma Baptist was able to get on the board as a Bethel foul in the box awarded a penalty kick. But, Bethel wasn't finished scoring as Jordan Nuffer scored late in the contest.

The Lady Wildcats are 1-3-1 on the season and will make a short trip to Martin, Tenn. to play against UTM on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 4:00pm.
