MCKENZIE, Tenn. (Sunday, September 21, 2008) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats soccer team fell behind early and wasn't able to comeback against the University of Tennessee at Martin Lady Skyhawks, losing 3-1. UTM out shot Bethel 12-3 in the first half recording two goals and although the Lady Wildcats outshot UTM in the second half (8-5), it wasn't enough.
 

The Lady Skyhawks got on the board early when Jamie Furstenburg scored in the 11th minute on an assist by Jody Kiers. UTM kept the pressure on scoring again in the 22nd minute. Lady Skyhawk Katie Imperiale scored on an assist by Sophie Cox. Bethel goal keeper Tashana Taylor record five saves in the first half and seven for the game.

Martin opened a 3-0 lead in the 67th minute when Melissa Govea scored with an assist from Stephanie Nilica. But, the lady Wildcats would get on the board. With just :37 remaining, UTM fouled in the goalie box and Bethel was awarded a penalty kick. Philisha Lewis made it count scoring for the Lady Wildcats.

Bethel is 1-4-1 on the season. They will be on the road in conference action to play the number one ranked Martin Methodist College Lady Redhawks in Pulaski, Tenn. on Friday, September 26th at 6:00pm.
