Jessica Vieira helped led the Lady Wildcats to a conference victory over Cumberland University
MCKENZIE, Tenn. (October 8, 2008) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats rebounded from their previous night's loss at Trevecca to claim a 3-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs of Cumberland University. Bethel won the first two games 25-23 and 25-15, CU took the third, but Bethel finished the match 25-22 in the fourth game. The win makes Bethel 6-3 in the TranSouth Conference, good enough for sole possession of third place. For the season, the Lady Wildcats are 10-6, the best start in school history.
 
Michele Cunha led the Lady 'Cats with 19 kills and 46 total attacks.
 
The Brazilian duo of Michele Cunha and Jessica Vieira were the offensive spark for the Lady ‘Cats. Cunha had 19 kills on 46 total attacks and added 26 digs. Vieira had 11 kills on 31 total attacks, five service aces and 18 digs. They weren't alone, Abbey Masters added six kills on 12 total attacks, three service aces and 17 digs. Lisa Sellers killed five on 19 total attacks and had 14 digs. Dre Townsend turned in one of her best performances in her first year as a Lady Wildcat with four kills on 14 attacks and had two blocks.

 The Lady Wildcats will take a week off and then will take on the Lady Bulldogs once again in Lebanon, Tenn. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 6:00pm.
