Philisha Lewis buried her penalty kick in the Lady Wildcats 6-0 win at Trevecca
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 10, 2008) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats were in control from the beginning as they scored four goals in the first half and two in the second for a 6-0 TranSouth conference win over the hosting Lady Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene University. The Lady ‘Cats got their offense from Kendall Nuffer, Marika Fukuta and Philisha Lewis as they each scored two goals.
 
Bethel put nine shots on goal to TNU's one in the first half as Kendall Nuffer and Fukuta did the damage. Kendall Nuffer got things started quickly as she put the ball away on an assist from Lewis at 6:43. Seven minutes later and Kendall Nuffer got a little help from her sister Joradn Nuffer and again from Lewis as Bethel led 2-0. At 36:54, Fukuta blasted a ball from long distance for her third goal of the season. Her fourth goal of the season and fourth for Bethel in the half came on a corner kick that send bent between the goalie and the post. Cayla Avila was the net minder in the first half stopping the lone Trevecca shot on goal.

After Lewis was fouled in the goalie box, she was awarded a penalty kick. She buried that kick for a 5-0 lead and then scored again on an assist from DeAnna Flores. Jackie Gardner took care of goalkeeping duties in the second half and made three saves. Bethel outshot TNU 18-4.

 Bethel improves to 3-5-1 (1-1) on the season and has won two in a row. The Lady Wildcats will play an important match on Saturday, October 11, 2008 as they host the Lady Bulldogs of Union University at 12:00pm. Union is currently 10-3 (3-1) on the season and the winner will better position themselves for tournament seeding.
