Memphis, TN (October 6, 2007) – The Bethel College Cross Country teams place 40th in the Memphis Twilight Invitational held Saturday.

James Demba (SR/Banjul, Gambia) finished first for the Wildcats to take the 208th place in 28:33.35. Randon Prather (JR/Mayfield, KY) finished the 8K in 29:13.72 for 243rd spot. Freshman Ryan Nieuwenhuis (Centerville, TN) made the trek in 32:01.11 for 309th place. In 314th place, Bill Robertson (SO/Portland, TN) finished the course in 32:51.09. Ron Plemons rounded out the finishers for the Wildcats in 33:33.64 for 319th place out of 341 runners. The Wildcats finished in a total time of 2:36:12.91 with an average of 32:09.51. Drake University took the top spot in a total time of 2:06:58.41 and an average of 25:23.69.

The Lady Wildcats’ top runner, Amber King (JR/McKenzie, TN), finished in 23:19.94 for 249th place. Mallory Blankenship (FR/Savannah, TN) finished the 5K in 23:47.82 for 261st place. Shantophia Seymour (SO/Nashville, TN) finished in 24:36.32 for 277th place. Freshman Ezim Amanchukwu took 284th place in 25:00.43. Finishing in 25:25.23, Anna Martin (JR/Camden, TN) took 289th place. Courtney Wiggins (SO/McKenzie, TN) ran the course in 27:42.76 for 314th place. Margot Creasman (JR/Rutherfordton, NC) finished at 315th place out of 329 runners in 27:56.43. The Lady Wildcats had a team total time of 2:08:50.82 with an average time of 25:46.17. Drake University won the women’s race with a team total 1:33:08.82 and an average of 18:37.77.

The Bethel College Cross Country teams will compete in the Lambuth University Invitational on October 11th in Jackson, TN.
