MCKENZIE, Tenn. (October 18, 2008) - Carrying the Bethel banner but in individual competition, Fernando Ristow, Ayda Ardila and Juliana Costa made a good showing for the Wildcats in the ITA Small College Championships.

On the men's side, Ristow cruised in his opening match (6-1, 6-1) over Kevin Bourdin of Lindenwood University. That qualified him for the semi-finals but he fell Remy Caffardo 3-6, 7-5, 3-6. With the loss Ristow placed fourth in the nation.

Ayda Ardilla challenged but fell short in the championship match to finish second in the nation. She won her opening match (6-0, 6-4) over Germania Bedon of Taylor Univ. (Ind.). In the Semi-final match she came back to earn a spot in the championship defeating Paige McKinney of Bethel College (Ks.) 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. But, she came up shot in the finals falling 6-3, 6-1 to Delia Sescioreanu of Auburn Univ. @ Montgomery. (Ala.).

Ardilla teamed up with Costa in doubles winning their first match over Jenny Mennerick/Erin Thoman of McKendree University (Mo.) 6-3, 6-1. They lost in the semi-finals to Maria Klokotzky/Katia Sabate Fresno Pacific University (Cal.) 6-1, 6-4. In the consolation match, the tandem was defeated by Irina Pljusznyin/Hillary Collins of Savannah College of Art & Design (Ga.) 6-3, 7-5 to finish number four in the nation.
