Hawkins, who qualified for Nationals the previous week, topped his personal best in the 55 meter dash running a 6.45 ranking him 11th in the nation. He won both the 55 meter dash and the 200 meter dash at the meet in Sewanee, Tenn.
Washington placed 6th in the 55 meter hurdles just missing out of the finals. She then ran in the 55 meter dash for the first time this year and won her heat in the prelims with a time 7.30. Then in the finals she broke that record running a time of 7.29 taking second place in the meet.
"I was very proud of all the runners in just their second meet of the season," said Coach Matt Aird. "Everyone was running much better times than just a week ago. They all have been working very hard and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season."
