McKenzie, TN (October 19, 2007) – The Bethel College Lady Wildcats were defeated in a hard fought match by Martin Methodist College (Tenn.) 3-0 (19-30; 29-31; 28-30). The Lady Wildcats fall to 11-13 (7-7) on the season as TranSouth’s #2 Martin Methodist improves to 16-1 (11-1).

The Lady Wildcats got off to a slow start but kept the final two games close for an exciting finish. Sarah Pipkin (SR/Pinson, TN), who is currently leading the nation in blocks, had 11 block assists, two aces, and seven kills. Brittany Weller (SR/Glendale, AZ) added 18 attacks, nine kills, and six block assists. Lisa Sellers (JR/Brighton, TN) produced 31 attacks, 10 kills, 13 service receives, and 13 digs. Senior Lisa Gaddie (Memphis, TN) recorded eight block assists, 14 digs, and 27 assists in the match. Michele Cunha (SO/Belo Horizonte, Brazil) added 35 service receives and 31 digs. Jessica Vieira (FR/Matozinhos, Brazil) finished with 32 attacks, 16 kills, 24 service receives, two blocks, and 22 digs.

The Lady Wildcats will be back on the court at home, Monday, October 22nd, as they take on Union University (Tenn.) at 7PM in Baker Fieldhouse in McKenzie, TN.
