CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (03.21.09) - Several Bethel College spring outdoor track team performed well at their opening meet at Austin Peay State University but did not have any runners qualify for nationals. The highlight of the meet was the men's 4 x 100 relay team placing fourth with a time of 4:29.
 

Winter indoor track national qualifier, Deseray Washington ran a 0:12.6 in the 100 meters. Teammate Kristina Hale ran a 0:12.9 in the 100M. Both are less than a second on qualifying for nationals. The girls 4x100 team also had success with a time of 0:50.02 which is less than a second off putting them at nationals.

On the men's side, Jeremy Hunt took 4th in the 100M dash with a time of 0:11.3.

Throwers also performed well at the meet. John Campbell led the way in the Javelin with a distance of 37.94 meters and 35.09 meters in the discus throw. Triosha Webster led the way for the women throwing 30.42 meters and 17.55 in the Javelin. Christine Campbell recorded a throw of 20.93 in the Javelin.

"I was pleased with some results but know we have a lot of work to do before conference," said Head Track Coach Matt Aird.
