MEMPHIS,
Tenn. (03.28.09) - Runners and throwers had success at the Rhodes Invitational
despite the cold and windy conditions.
Keith Hawkins placed first in the 200M and the women's relay team placed
first in the 4x400M relay.
Keith Hawkins ran very well in the 100M dash with a time of 10.91
seconds, good enough for second place.
His time of 22.3 seconds in the 200M dash gave him first place.
In the 4x400M relays, the women took first place and the men took
second.
Katrina Bettard (Fr.,Lakeland, Fla.) posted 12.76 seconds in the 100M
for second place. Kristina Hale, a
freshman from Nashville, Tenn., ran her best time in the 100M with a time of 12.8
seconds for third place. Deseray Washington
(Fr., Jackson, Tenn.) took fifth place with a time of 12.87.
Ronnika Garrett a freshman from Nashville, Tenn. placed third in the
400M with a time of 1:03.
Sara Halsall (Sr., Lanshire, England) ran a personal best in the 800M
with a time of 2:27 which gave her third place overall.
Christine Campbell (So., McKenzie, Tenn.) threw a personal best in the
javelin with a throw of 24 meters, enough to get her to the finals. Triesha Webster (Fr., Nashville, Tenn.) took third
place in the shot put and fifth in the discus throws. John Campbell (Fr., McKenzie, Tenn.) placed third
in the Javelin. Michael Jasper (Jr.,
Nashville, Tenn.) placed third in the shot put with a distance of 13.63M.
