MCKENZIE, Tenn. (05.01.09) - Looking for a smaller school with a soccer program and a change, Raven Church has committed to play for the Lady Wildcats beginning in the 2009-10 season. Church, a defender, played at Bartlett High School and last season for Crichton College. She is the daughter of Jim and Jill Church.
 

Church started all four years at Bartlett High School and played on the Rangers club team. At Bartlett her team won the district and region. Last season at Crichton, Church played in 12 games. She received the Coach's Award in 2006, was named Best of Preps in 2007 and was Defensive Player of the Year in 2008.

She believes the strengths she brings to Bethel are being a team player, her work ethic and her aggressiveness. While at Bethel she wants to improve her ball handling skills and her endurance.

Church thinks her biggest soccer accomplishment is when she tore her ACL in her freshman season at Crichton and return to play the next season.

Church was also sought after by Trevecca Nazarene University.

Church is also an excellent student. She was a member of FCA, Student Council, HOSA, Bartlett Youth Leadership and the Infinity Club.

Church plans on majoring in Nursing at Bethel.
