Batesville, AR (October 26, 2007) – The Bethel College Lady Wildcats were defeated by Lyon College (Ark.) 1-3 (26-30; 30-21; 24-30; 26-30) in Friday night’s TranSouth match. The Lady Wildcats fall to 12-15 (7-9) as the Pipers improve to 16-10 (10-5) on the season.

It was a tough match between TranSouth’s #4 Lyon and #6 Bethel as Lyon went away with a win. For the Lady Wildcats, Sarah Pipkin (SR/Pinson, TN) continued with her specialty, blocking, as she picked up three solo blocks and six assisted for a total of nine blocks in the match. Senior Lisa Gaddie (Memphis, TN) had six solo blocks, 21 digs, and 42 assists. Brittany Weller (SR/Glendale, AZ) added 42 attacks and 18 kills. Lisa Sellers (JR/Brighton, TN) finished the match with four solo blocks, 34 attacks, and 14 kills. The sophomore from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Michele Cunha, picked up 37 digs and 44 service receives. Jessica Vieira (FR/Matozinhos, Brazil) had 23 digs, three aces, 37 attacks, 14 kills, and 24 service receives in the loss. Jessie Davis (FR/Nashville, TN) finished the match with 16 digs and two aces.

As a team, the Lady Wildcats had 139 attacks, 120 digs, 92 services receives, and 53 kills.

The Lady Wildcats will be back at home on Monday, October 29th at 6PM as Williams Baptist College (Ark.) pays a visit to Baker Fieldhouse in McKenzie, TN.
