MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats lost a heartbreaker Sunday afternoon at Wildcat Park in McKenzie losing in 11 innings 3-2 to Blue Mountain. With the win the Toppers took two out of three in the weekend series.

Zach Crocker drove in a run in the fourth inning to tie the game at one. Lucas Riddick tied the game in the eighth with an RBI. The Toppers scored on a Bethel error in the top of the 11th to give the visitors from Mississippi the win.

BMC had nine hits in the game while the Wildcats had seven. Both teams had two errors. BMC stranded 11 runners while Bethel left seven runners on base.  

Alex Metzger suffered the loss while David Torres picked up the Topper win.

Bethel fell to 13-12 overall and 2-4 in the SSAC.  BMC is 18-11 and 4-5 in the league.

The Wildcats host Lane College Tuesday for a single game beginning at 2 p.m. at Wildcat Park.
