MONTGOMERY, Ala. –The Bethel Wildcats had to wait almost seven hours for their game to begin against Loyola Thursday in day two of the SSAC Championships in Montgomery and in the end it was a case of what might have been. The Wildcats looked to be in good shape leading 8-2 in the seventh but Loyola staged a huge comeback and ended Bethel's season by beating the Wildcats 9-8.

Action was delayed several times due to inclement weather in the Montgomery area. With the win the Pack remained alive and will meet the loser of the Middle Georgia/Mobile game Friday at 7 p.m.

Kendall Adkisson tripled in the first and later scored on a Gabriel Matias sacrifice fly to give Bethel a 1-0 lead.

Loyola's Ben Condara slugged a homer in the second to tie the game.
