MCKENZIE, Tenn. (06.06.09) - The Wildcats baseball team has added Hardin County High School pitcher Logan Blackwelder to the 2009-10 recruiting class. The native of Savannah, Tenn. is the son of Philip and Christy Blackwelder.
"Logan is very tough on the mound and pitched against the best high school players in West Tennessee successfully," said Head Coach Rusty Thompson. "The coaches believe he can help us add depth to our pitching staff."
Blackwelder helped his team to a 28-10 record this season and the Courier Classic Championship. He believes his biggest asset is his hard work ethic and a positive mentality. While at Bethel he wants to improve his velocity
An Honor Student, Blackwelder was being recruited by Middle Tennessee State University and Jackson State Community College. But, he chose Bethel because it was a small school close to home.
Blackwelder plans on majoring in History.
