MCKENZIE, Tenn. (06.16.09) - The Bethel women's basketball team has added Challice Vestal a guard from Houston County High School. Vestal plays at the two and three position. She is the daughter of Timothy Vestal and Kimberly and Andrew Boone.

Before playing for the Fighting Irish at Houston County, Vestal played on the Bradford junior high team in seventh and eighth grade. She played on the Bradford varsity team her eighth grade year also. She started at Houston County her sophomore through senior seasons. She has recently played for Montgomery Central's AAU team in Clarksville. While at Houston County, her team was District and Regional champions her freshman season. That team also made it to Sub-State. Her sophomore year the Fighting Irish was district runner-up.

While playing for the Lady Wildcats, Vestal wants to improve her ball-handling and shooting and become a more complete person.

Vestal is an excellent student graduating with an honor's diploma. She was secretary of Beat Club and voted most athletic by her fellow classmates.

Vestal was also being recruited by Martin Methodist, Austin Peay State University, Culver-Stockton College (Mo.) and The University of Arkansas.

On why she chose Bethel, Vestal said, "I love how the Lady Wildcats play the game. They play very hard the entire game and the coaches are extremely nice and dedicated. I also liked that Bethel is a smaller school and it is close to home for me."

Vestal is undecided on her intended major.
