MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Coming off their biggest win in recent years the Bethel Lady Wildcats played host to LSU –Alexandria Sunday at Wildcat Stadium. The Lady Cats upset No. 18 John Brown Saturday in their home opener winning 2-1. The Lady Wildcats upended the Generals 1-0 capturing their fourth straight victory.

Both teams struggled offensively in the first half. LSU-A had five total shots in the first period with four shots on goal. Bethel managed just three total attempts with one shot on goal as the teams battled to a scoreless tie at the break. Bethel goalkeeper Danielle Krzyzaniak recorded four saves in the period.

Five minutes into the second half Bethel's Elvira Martin had a free kick go off the cross bar but senior mid-fielder Melinda Sopka headed in the rebound to give Bethel a 1-0 lead. That proved to be the only score of the game.
